Travel
When I first set out to plan my adventures in Asia and beyond, I looked to those who have gone before me. I particularly love the Yes Theory/Seek Discomfort boys, Drew Binsky and Adventurous Kate, to name a few. One thing I found though, is a marked dearth of mature solo female travellers who seek to step outside their boundaries in a way that I aspire to. I'm not a young ingenue setting off to find out who I am and where I fit in the world. I already know who I am. I have raised a family, worked for many years in Emergency Services and travelled whenever I could through the years.
This time, for me, is about really seeking what is out there in the world. I want to make connections with people very different to me, I want to hear stories that are important to tell in the world. And I want to take my friends and family, and whoever else may be interested, along with me.
It's early days. I'm sitting here just a few nights before I head off. A bit excited and a little overwhelmed by what is ahead. But this journey, both of the world and here online, will no doubt challenge and help me grow in ways I'm sure I can't even begin to imagine.
In time I would like to post a few articles here - perhaps about female solo travel, about skills I may pick up along the way, how to guides about the best of budget travelling.
